Sing is a 2016 American computer-animated film released by Illumination and released by Universal Pictures. It was written and directed by Garth Jennings with co-director Chistophe Lourdelet. The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2016, premiered at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angels on December 3rd, followed by general release on December 16th. A sequel, titled Sing 2, will be released on July 2, 2021.

Plot Edit

Buster Moon looks for ways to revitalize his struggling theater, prompted by another demand for payment made by Judith, his bank's representative. Despite doubts about the idea by his friend Eddie Noodleman, Buster moves forward with his idea for a singing competition. A mishap when creating the flyers lists the prize at $100,000. The mistake is not discovered until after auditions are held, but Buster, optimistic that his theater can still be saved, arranges to meet with Eddie's grandmother, former opera singer and stage actress Nana Noodleman.
